Golden Thread: A Safe Place to Grow

A testimonial by Beth Maze.

When I first joined Golden Thread, I didn’t know quite what to expect. I was curious, hopeful—but unsure. What I discovered was more than just a small group or a book study. It became a space of safety, trust, and spiritual growth—a true community.

Each time we gathered, I found myself drawn deeper into connection—not only with God, but with the people around me. We read carefully chosen books that sparked honest, searching conversations. Because we had built a foundation of trust, it felt safe to ask questions—any questions—and to wrestle with them together.

Every meeting began with a prayer practice—often something new to me. These prayer moments weren’t just introductions; they were invitations to be more intentional with my time with God. Then, we’d dive into discussion and often engage in creative spiritual practices: writing about a prompt, making art, walking the labyrinth. These were new ways for me to nurture my soul, and I appreciated that I was always invited to participate, never pressured.

For me, Golden Thread became a constant invitation to deepen my relationship with God. It focused my faith journey in ways I didn’t expect. And through it all, I had the space to go at my own pace, ask my own questions, and find new ways to listen for God’s voice.

If you're looking for a place to explore your faith more deeply—especially in a way that’s creative, open, and grounded in community—I encourage you to give Golden Thread a try. You may find, as I did, that it meets you exactly where you are… and gently helps you grow from there.
