How We Live

THE MISSION OF ST. PAUL’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH IS TO EXPLORE AND CELEBRATE GOD’S INFINITE GRACE, ACCEPTANCE, AND LOVE.

A Rule of Life is the guiding pattern that shapes our daily, weekly, and monthly spiritual practices. Based on monastic rhythms, a rule is a way for all individuals and communities to arrange their lives in relation to God.

Worship Weekly

The Holy Eucharist has been the act that has constituted the church since the resurrection of Christ. We experience Christ truly present with us in the sacrament of Communion. No matter who you are and where you are in your spiritual journey you are welcome at this table. As you worship weekly, the stories of our biblical faith and the rhythms of the church year will sink deeply within you. Worship weekly. That is first.

Pray Daily

We offer services of Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer at church every weekday, and we also encourage people to pray the Daily Office on their own. To those who sign up for it, we email a Morning Reflection each weekday based on that day’s Bible readings. We also have Centering Prayer here at the church throughout the week. We seek to model a practice of daily prayer. We offer regular teaching to support people in their life of prayer. We want you to be confident in your ability to pray every day.

Grow Constantly

We encourage every person to study continually. To that end we offer many Bible studies, other classes, and small group discussions to support your growth and understanding. Learning is a lifetime journey. Take responsibility for your own spiritual growth. Join one of the classes or groups that support our call to learn constantly.

Serve Joyfully

As followers of Jesus, we serve Christ by serving others. Our church does not exist just for its members, but for our whole community. From our Anglican heritage, we inherit a tradition of being a parish church which serves our geographic parish. We seek to be a resource to everyone in the wider community regardless of their church affiliation. Whether helping with a ministry of the parish or an organization in the community, you are encouraged to seek the joy of offering your time and talent to help others.

Give Generously

The people of this church give sacrificially as a way to offer themselves more fully into the work that God is doing in and through St. Paul’s. That giving spirit fills this congregation with loving energy that spills over into the community. We volunteer with our time and talents, and we also share our treasure. We encourage everyone to commit a significant, proportional gift of their income to God’s work at St. Paul’s as a spiritual practice.
