Service to Camp Retreat at Camp Mitchell

Wednesday, February 26, 5:00 p.m. - Saturday, March 1, 2:00 p.m.

Have you experienced Camp Mitchell – our only Episcopal camp in Arkansas? Do you want to show your love for Camp Mitchell? Come spend a day or multiple days on Petit Jean Mountain, enjoy the beauty of the camp and help us get ready for retreat seasonand summer camps just around the corner! Volunteers from across the Diocese are invited to join together in service to Camp Mitchell.

We welcome volunteers to come up for the whole retreat or for portions as you are able. Service blocks will occur Thursday and Friday morning (9-12) and afternoon (1-4), and Saturday 9-2. Lunches are provided and we will share cooking responsibilities in theevenings for those lodging at camp. Volunteers will lead morning prayer in Grace Lodge, and there will be free time to enjoy just being together on the mountain!

We will work together to complete several projects, and welcome individuals or groups to sign up for specific areas of interest (i.e. sanding, staining, and sealing a small deck off of “Newport”, prepping buildings for paint, rebuilding a railing for Howe cabin,organizing kitchen inventory in Grace Lodge, and more! If you have a particular talent such as electrician, landscaping, etc., we can find a project for you!

We also have opportunities for sponsorship of meals during the retreat – for $250 per meal. This is a great way to give to camp if you are not able to come to the retreat.

Retreat begins Wed, Feb 26th at 5 PM with gathering in Grace for potluck meal. Retreat ends: Sat, March 1nd at 2 PMSuggested donation of $25/person/night for guests staying overnight in shared lodging. Linens provided. Private rooms available for additional cost.
